Of God and Winter

The breath of God produces ice, and the broad waters become frozen.
Job 37:10
We worry, wonder, and whine about winter. We get depressed. We think we need to go fishing, to see the sun, to wear sandals.

Then the sun crests the mountain for the first time in months.

We step outside. We see peaks in every direction.

The clarity is striking.

We don't survive here. We don't exist here. We don't wait for summer here.

We have a gift. We have breathed the breath of God.

We live here.

I'm glad someone on the internet has been gifted with words that stir our souls. (that's YOU, man!)

Thanks.

Wow. Beautiful reminder of God's perfect creation. And that it is all made to renew--not just itself, but our hearts as well. Be patient, son, you'll be in that boat soon enough!

He took them on our way to town yesterday. Sometimes I forget what a truly beautiful place we live in. Thanks for the reminder, TMF.

Beautiful pictures, TMF. It's the last month of meteorological winter, so party on! ;) I hope the aurora has been as beautiful at night.

thanks everybody.

snowbug--couldn't find you on the 'net. still looking.

randy--not so much aurora around here. we have mountains in 360 degrees so the sky is much smaller. finally some clear skies this week, but a full moon wrecks the chances. when they do show, it is special.
